As every year ends and a new one begins, I find myself making the same list of resolutions- to lose weight, to work out more, to floss twice a day, the list goes on and on.  This year I decided to mix it up and make a resolution that I could keep and that would be beneficial for present day me and future me.

2012 was undoubtedly the hardest year of my life thus far, I lost my father who was my everything- my Mr. Mom, my best friend, my confidant, as well as my gourmet chef.  I didn’t realize how many of his recipes I had lost when I lost him.  This was the catalyst I needed to make my 2013 New Year’s Resolution and thus this blog to track my progress.  So here we are in 2013 with a goal of 52 recipes to be tried and perfected to add to my official recipe book.

With the popularity of food blogs and the ease of using the interwebs, I thought why not share my challenge and post each week’s recipe in numerical order along with some of my favorites that I’ve perfected prior to this challenge.  I find a lot of recipes through pinterest and other food blogs and I will post sources when used.  I will try my best to include caloric information for normal meals; sweets will have to be omitted from the caloric counting because heaven knows I won’t want to bake them after I calculate the calories.
