Weekend Snapshots: Napa

Last weekend was one of the most fun trips I’ve had in awhile. A few months ago, my boyfriend and I decide to buy tickets to the BottleRock Music Festival in Napa. Why not? It had a great line up in the middle of wine country- I’m sold!

We both decided to take Thursday and Friday off, so we could leisurely drive up to San Francisco to catch a Giants game before we made the 40 minute trek to Napa Friday morning. Although the Giants lost the game we attended, Bill caught a ball tossed directly to him by Blanco. I’ve been to my share of {dodger} baseball games and never had the same luck!

Friday morning we grabbed breakfast at a cute cafe in Oakland, then off we went straight to Downtown Napa! Out of all three days, I think Friday was the best- the weather was nice, not too hot- and it wasn’t super crowded so we were able to catch all the bands we came there to see. From Justin Townes Earle to the Shins to the Black Keys, everything about Friday was a success!

Saturday, we headed out early to beat traffic and get a good parking spot at the shuttle depot. We walked around downtown Napa for a bit, grabbed some lunch and a few brews, then headed into the Expo. Saturday was almost unbearable in terms of heat, but once 4pm cam around there was a nice wind and we were able to enjoy the music- Bad Religion, Jackson Browne, Jane’s Addiction and Kings of Leon.

Sunday, also Mother’s Day was a different crowd than any other day. Again, we headed into Napa early and found ourselves wandering the downtown area. We finally ended up in the expo in time to catch Kacey Musgraves. We then hopped from winery tent to winery tent sampling the various whites, trying to keep cool. We unrolled our blanket and chilled out while listening to Grouplove, The Wallflowers, Cake, and finally Zac brown Band.

Overall, the entire weekend was amazing. A litte hot, a little crowded, but very worth it!
