Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

When I went to the store this week, I was torn between buying brussel sprouts and attempting the bacon topped cousin to the balsamic glazed recipe I tried last week and breaking out of my vegetable shell and attempting a bacon wrapped classic. The asparagus won and became the perfect foil to my healthy pesto salmon dinner.

4 strips of bacon
12 stalks of asparagus
1/4 light brown sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp soy sauce
Salt and Pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Wrap 3 stalks of washed asparagus with one strip of bacon and place in a glass baking dish.

Combine sugar, butter, soy sauce, and seasoning in a small sauce pan until it boils. Pour sauce over the bacon wrapped asparagus and bake for 30-35 minutes until bacon is cooked and asparagus is wilted.

Even raw these look delightful!
